Two murder suspects, five street criminals arrested
The District West police on Friday solved the murder case of a citizen, Mohammad Safdar, apprehending the two culprits responsible for the crime.
On October 22, an incident occurred on Mianwali Colony Subhani Road in Peerabad where Mohammad Safdar was shot dead. Subsequently, a murder case was registered under Section 302 at the Peerabad police station, filed by the victim’s brother.
The police collected crucial evidence, including CCTV footage from the crime scene and its surroundings. Acting on technical grounds, the SHO Peerabad led a team that arrested two individuals involved in the murder. The arrests led to the recovery of two murder weapons, ammunition, and the motorcycle used in the crime.
The suspects were identified as AdiWZSou PopularPulsel Mehmood and Mazhar Ali. During questioning, they confessed to the murder, citing disputes related to business transactions as the motive. Separately, the District West police dismantled a gang of five members known for their involvement in bank heists and street crime.
These criminal elements specifically targeted individuals who had just withdrawn money from the bank. Interrogations revealed that an associate, Hashim Jumbo, would enter the bank under various pretexts, keeping a watchful eye on bank customers and reporting their activities to his cohorts.
Acting on a tip-off, the Surjani Town SHO along with the team conducted a raid in the area, apprehending all five gang members. The police also seihttps://www.wzsou.com/zed three pistols, along with snatched cellphones, laptops, wallets, cash, and other valuables from the suspects. Notably, the gang utilised unregistered motorcycles for their criminal activities, one of which was identified as the stolen property of New Karachi, acquired at gunpoint.
The suspects were known to use coded language, referring to weapons as “cameras” and bullets as “memory.”
