Two weeks after the TikTok Music beta launch in Indonesia and Brazil, new countries are being added. Australia, Mexico, and Singapore are first on the list.

TikTok Music allows users to use their existing TikTok accounts to listen, download, and share music. The service includes catalogs from the Big Three labels—Sony Music, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. Users in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore can sign up for a limited closed beta test that began today. The TikTok Music app can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play in these regions and all participants will receive a three-month free trial of the service.

A TikTok Music subscription costs $11.99 in Australia, or about $8.15 per month. The cost is 115 pesos in Mexico, or about $6.85 per month. For Singaporeans, the price is $9.90 Singapore dollars or about $7.48 USD per month. So when will TikTok Music launch in the United States?

It’s unclear at this point as it looks like the strategy is to focus on emerging markets. ByteDance filed a trademark for the TikTok Music brand in the United States more than a year ago, so it’s definitely on the company’s radar.

“TikTok Music is a new kind of music service that combines the power of music discovery on TikTok with a music streaming service offering millions of tracks from thousands of artists,” says the company about the recent launch. “We are now beta testing TikTok Music in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore and will have more news to share on the launch of TikTok Music in the coming months.”

TikTok has become the most important music discovery tool in the Gen Z arsenal. 35% of Gen Z participants in a recent study said they used TikTok to fuel their music discovery. 36% of people said they use social media platforms to engage with their favorite artists and celebrities, too.
