While MSN is making the biggest news in search this week, a Mark Cuban venture hopes to make a much bigger impact overall.
The new effort, IceRocket (icerocket.com), is an ambitious attempt to tilt the scales in the search world, with Cuban seeing multimedia as a valuable component. To that end, IceRocket recently announced that it will incorporate the results set from GoFish, which aggregates listings from various paid music stores and other multimedia sources. “We know that downloadable media is an area that our users are spending more and more time focused on while online,” said Blake Rhodes, CEO of IceRocket.com. “Through our relationship with GoFish, we can now return targeted search results that represent the largest single universe of available digital media downloads.”
