Despite reports that Ariana Grande cut ties with Scooter Braun last year, new details reveal a continuing business relationship between the two.
Last year, it appeared Ariana Grande was saying “we can’t be friends” to Scooter Braun when it was reported that the musician had split from his SB Projects, inking a new management deal with Brandon Creed’s Good World Management. But new details reveal that Braun’s business relationship with the singer will continue, while Creed operates her day-to-day management.
Some collaborations between Grande and Hybe are on the way, representatives for both the singer and the company confirm. “Ariana Grande and Hybe, led by CEO Scooter Braun, look forward to continuing their long-standing business partnership and pursuing creative opportunities in Weverse and REM Beauty,” reads their joint statement. “Grande in this new chapter will continue to be managed exclusively by Brandon Creed/Good World Management.”
“[Grande] likes that [Creed] understands her on a different level and between acting and music, she has a lot coming up and is excited to have found a new support system to help her execute her plans,” a source told Billboard.
Weverse is a social platform launched by Hybe in 2019 to encourage “artist-to-fan” interactions, which hosts global artists like BTS, Blackpink, New Hope Club, Gracie Abrams, and more.
Braun began transitioning into the CEO role at Hybe America in 2021 after the company acquired his imprint, Ithaca Holdings. The acquisition included his entertainment company SB Projects, which has managed artists like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and J Balvin.
But many of these artists began to reportedly split with Braun last summer, with Lovato parting ways with SB Projects around the same time Grande signed with Good World. Bieber was also said to be seeking a way out of his contract with Braun. At the time, sources close to the situation reported that the rumors “are off,” that some of those clients were still under contract, and Braun was preparing to “further transition” into his new role as CEO.
Recently, Grande released the cinematic music video for her latest single, “The Boy is Mine,” featuring cameos from Brandy and Monica, whose 1998 hit of the same name Grande’s track interpolates. She is also starring as Glinda in the film adaptation of “Wicked,” the first part of which will hit theaters in November.
